Employees Are Curious What Their Peers Are Making
Earlier this week, we at Clear-Salary.com conducted an informal survey on social media. The question asked was whether the respondents were curious about what their peers were being paid. All the respondents indicated that they were in fact curious about what others were making within their organizations and industry.
Surprised? We weren’t. While the curiosity may have been there quietly before, we’ve seen an increase in recent times to normalize the questioning of pay structures and practices, as well as question whether there is room for increased salaries and compensation within our own careers. And what better way to advocate for an increase than by knowing what others around you are being paid? It starts with the curiosity and leads to more information and better advocacy for yourself.
Let’s continue this progress and normalize not only the curiosity, but the action steps to increase pay transparency for all!
