Which States Are Leading The Way In Salary Transparency Laws?

Last week, we discussed the pay-transparency legislation that has made its way through the Illinois state legislature and is awaiting approval of the Governor. If signed into law, this will be another early example of a state helping to lead the way in salary transparency. But what other states already have laws in place? Below is a list as of June 16, 2023.

3. Connecticut
4. Maryland
5. Nevada
6. New York
7. Rhode Island
8. Washington

In addition to the above states, several localities have implemented their own pay transparency laws such as Cincinnati, Ohio and Ithaca, NY.
